Develop your holistic view of corporate IT

Understanding and motivating change whilst focused on business value impact, costs and risk, with the Holistic-IT 3x3 training course.

Who benefits from Holistic-IT?

  • IT support functions working across organizational boundaries, silos or structures such as capacity management, software asset management and finance.

  • Organizations wishing to develop a focus on the business value of IT, especially where linked to improvement and transformation activities.

  • Organization and individuals wanting to develop awareness of ITIL 4 practices or that are preparing for the ITIL 4 foundation examination.

What does Holistic-IT cover?

Over the course, participants learn to prioritise activities, optimize costs and mitigate risks all from the point of view of business value contribution, seeing and experiencing the whole of IT as a single entity. The course examines IT from 3 mutually dependent perspectives, that of the business layer, the IT service layer and the infrastructure layer, each having a dedicated module.

Central to each module, is a unique business simulation game designed to develop and reinforce experiential understanding of the knowledge space and its role in delivering business value. Each module builds on the previous, both through extending understanding and by carrying forward the impact of decisions from one module to the next. This approach develops a deep appreciation of the inter-dependency of the various layers of IT and how they work together to deliver business value.

3 modules to provide the breadth

In the first module you will explore the SERVICE layer of IT and learn how to work with an agile approach to manage risks and extend business value.

Explore the power house of IT, the INFRASTRUCTURE layer. Here you will focus on how to deliver more value per unit cost with optimization and capacity planning.

The third module brings you into the front line use of IT in the BUSINESS layer where you maximize business value and limit costs by strategically upgrading IT solutions

Holistic-IT comprises 3 modules, each lasting around 5 hours and delivering a different view of corporate IT.

Whilst module can be experienced as an independent stand-alone session, for the full scope of the course, all three modules should be brought together to provide the complete picture.

As appropriate and needed, additional time may be given to the EVALUATE section of each module.

3 sections  to provide the depth

The APPLY section employs a unique advanced business strategy game to deliver an experiential reinforcement of the understanding.

In the EVALUATE section, delegates review and discuss the subject matter, extrapolating it to their real-world experiences.

The UNDERSTAND section introduces you to the key words and concepts used in the module

Soft skills

The challenging nature of the business simulations develops attention to detail, interpersonal skills, leadership and communication skills.
